The Latest Industry News
For those that aren't aware, the FDA has been handing out marketing denial orders left and right. With more than 300 MDOs on flavored vaping products, some of these company's are fighting back. Last month, the Federal Court ruled against the FDA in six MDO appeals from Bidi Vapor, Diamond Vapor, Johnny Copper, Pop Vapor Co, Union Street Brands, and Vapor Unlimited. While this isn't necessarily a win for them, it does force the FDA to start a new review of their premarket tobacco applications.
If that wasn't enough, the FDA is even targeting new nicotine gummies, which have recently landed itself on the market. Krave Nic, a brand owned by VPR Brands, was handed a citation by the FDA for selling gummy candies that contained synthetic nicotine. The FDA recently gained authority over synthetic nicotine and it's now going after any company selling synthetic nicotine products that hasn't submitted a PMTA. If the FDA is so against nicotine, why not go after tobacco cigarettes, a product that is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States alone? What's more interesting about this piece of news is that the nicotine infused gummies contain much less nicotine than a balk pack of nicotine gum, as Matt Culley shared.
