The Latest Industry News
The most recent industry news involves FDA Marketing Denial Orders that were issued to four manufacturers. The MDOs were issued and challenged immediately. Pending review, all four manufacturing brands, including Bidi Vapor, Johnny Copper, Diamond Vapor, and Vapor Unlimited were allowed to continue conducting business as normal. This is a huge win for vaping, given that it is an indication that there is still hope for these manufacturers in their efforts to beat the denials.
The next piece of industry news comes from a study that was conducted on 500 respondents. The vaping company, GoSmokeFree, shared that there is an estimated 68 million vapers globally and wondered how many people actually know how vaping works. To get a sense of how many people possessed this knowledge or how common it is, the study was conducted and the results are shocking. Nearly half of people, 47% to be precise, have no clue how vaping works. While some people just may not be interested, this could be our motivation as a community to continue informing the public.
Our last sharing of industry news originates from the UK. It is a news publication that announces that vape vending machines will soon find its way to grocery stores in the UK. While it is merely a trial, an age verification tech business has recently launched their vape vending machine, and coming this spring it will be available for use in grocery stores. The first trial of the machine will be placed in a known vaping retail establishment, Ecigwizard. It will stay for a 12-month trial. During the time, more machines will appear in "a household name grocery retailer", according to the company. How it works is that the customer will select the product, open an app to scan a QR code, make the payment, and boom, the product is dispensed. While we see no chances of this hitting the states, it is interesting to see how vaping is progressing in other countries.
